October is Love Your Body Month and we’re doing something special this year where we hope you’ll join us.
Many of our Warriors are yoga and fitness instructors who passionately believe in the Circles of Change movement and the mission of Ophelia’s Place. We asked them if they would be willing to participate in our inaugural Love Your Body Month Campaign, which includes celebrating the “Love Your Body” message intentionally throughout the month in one of their classes and to donate a portion of the class proceeds to Ophelia’s Place. We are thrilled they said YES!
Our campaign goal is for 250 people in October to physically experience a class dedicated to this call for healing and homecoming, and to raise $2500 specifically for our Education + Empowerment Programs.
Below is a snapshot of these incredible Warriors and why they wanted to participate. If you live in the Central New York area, try to get to at least one of these classes. It will be worth it.
But no matter where you live, you can still join in by:
Adopting one of the ways you can Love and Accept Your Body by Ophelia’s Place
Donating the cost of one of your usual yoga or fitness classes during October here. Just add “LYB Month Donation” in the donation field that says “A Gift In Honor Of” so we can see if we’ve reached our goal of 250 people + $2500.
Every Body Matters. Every Dollar Counts. Everyone Deserves Support.

“At Syracuse Yoga we believe Yoga is for everybody and every BODY. Ophelia's Place has a very special place in my heart. They have offered me resources and helped me know the best way to help many people (both men and women) with eating disorders and disordered eating through Yoga." - Sophie

“I was all in when it came to the campaign because the reality is that we tend to criticize our bodies more than we celebrate them. This campaign gives me hope that we are working toward self-love being the new self-loathe. I look at Ophelia's Place as the 'party starter' in this area when it comes to the celebration of our bodies and who we are as individuals, so this is my way of giving thanks to them for their positive influence on our community." - Brittany

Heather McClelland, Owner of Mindful Yoga
“We wanted to join in on the campaign because it's important to us to share the message that no matter what your body type is or what your body physically can or can't do, yoga is available to you. Yoga isn't only what we see most times on social media, people twisting their bodies into a pretzel or standing on their head. Yoga is meeting your body where it is in that moment and honoring & loving that. We are thankful that Ophelia's Place is sharing a similar message and learning to love your body where it is at. To not strive to look or be like someone else. Ophelia's Place is giving our community a place for people to heal and grow in a way that is very much needed.” - Heather

Emma Whitney, Yoga Instructor
“I wanted to participate because of my own struggles with body dissatisfaction and disordered eating. The information, messages and encouragement I received from Ophelia’s Place, via Holly’s podcast Well + Weird, allowed me to address my restrictive & destructive habits. Since then, my overall health has seen significant improvement, and with the shift in my energy, I am in a position to give back, empower and educate others who may also be struggling. I want to do my part to support individuals and society as a whole in accepting and loving their entire selves.” - Emma
